Overview

The Seretta Ceiling Light is a single-bulb hardwired flush mount with a pleated ivory linen shade folded into a fan-like silhouette, capped with a warm gold-toned metal canopy and a small metal finial at the lowest point. The pleats run from the canopy outward and downward, giving the fixture the look of a fanned-open paper umbrella when viewed from below.

The shade is linen fabric over a metal frame; the canopy and finial are also metal in a warm gold tone. Lightweight enough for a standard ceiling bracket without reinforcement. Hardwired install, mounts to a standard ceiling junction box. Designed for low-ceiling rooms — bedrooms, hallways, and living rooms — and for transitional, modern, and Japandi-leaning interiors where a chandelier or pendant would crowd the space.

Key Features

Pleated Ivory Linen Shade

Linen fabric pleated by hand over a metal frame, fanning out from the canopy in evenly spaced folds. The natural fiber softens the bulb’s output instead of reflecting it back.

Metal Canopy + Finial

Warm gold-toned metal canopy mounts directly to a standard junction box; a small turned metal finial at the bottom of the shade gives the fan its terminal point.

Low-Profile Flush Mount

Sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging on a rod or chain — a flush mount that suits rooms with ceilings under 9 ft where a pendant or chandelier would feel oversized.

Light Through Pleated Linen

Pleats are a working part of the optical design, not just decoration — they shape how the bulb’s output reaches the room.

Through · Soft

Linen filters direct glare

Light passing through the woven linen is softened to a warm, diffuse glow before it reaches the room — there’s no visible bulb hot-spot from the floor below.

Across · Textured

Pleats add subtle highlight bands

Light skimming across the surface picks up the ridges of each pleat, creating gentle alternating bands of brighter and softer fabric that give the shade depth from across the room.

Installation

Hardwired Flush Mount · Indoor Dry Use Only Seretta is a hardwired fixture that mounts to a standard ceiling junction box — not a plug-in light. Installation is straightforward, but we recommend a licensed electrician for the wiring step. Because the shade is natural linen fabric, the fixture is rated for indoor dry locations only — please don’t install it in bathrooms, laundry rooms, covered porches, or other damp areas. Dust the pleats gently with a soft brush or low-suction vacuum attachment; spot-clean fabric only when necessary.

Where It Works

Seretta is built for rooms where ceiling height is the constraint. In a bedroom with an 8 ft ceiling, this pleated linen flush mount for bedroom use replaces a center pendant that would hang into headroom — the shade adds visual softness above the bed without taking up vertical space. In a hallway, a single Seretta gives ambient guidance lighting that’s gentler than a recessed downlight and more architectural than a basic dome flush mount.

For transitional or Japandi-styled living rooms, the linen shade pairs naturally with rattan, oak, and bouclé textures, layering well alongside floor lamps and table lamps. Pair two Seretta fixtures down a long hallway or in connected entry-and-foyer spaces to keep the lighting language consistent. Seretta is an ambient flush mount, not a task light — for kitchen islands, dining tables, and workspaces, choose a chandelier, pendant, or task fixture instead.

FAQ

Is this a pendant or a flush mount?

Flush mount. The fixture sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging on a rod or chain, so it works in rooms with limited ceiling height — typically 8 to 9 ft.

What bulb does it use?

One E27 LED bulb. E27 is the standard medium screw base used across most of Europe and in many globally-sourced US fixtures (it’s mechanically the same socket size as E26 in most cases — most E27 LEDs fit a US E26 fixture). For a warm glow that complements the ivory linen, a 2700K LED works well. Always check the bulb’s wattage rating against the fixture label before installing.

Will the linen yellow or fade over time?

Like any natural fabric, linen can shift slightly in tone over years of use, especially with direct sun exposure. Indoor ceiling placement minimizes this, and the ivory base color tolerates subtle warming better than pure white. Dust regularly to keep the original tone visible.

Can I install it myself?

Seretta is hardwired and mounts to a standard ceiling junction box. If you’ve installed a flush mount before and you’re comfortable with line-voltage wiring and a ground connection, yes. Otherwise, hire a licensed electrician. Always shut off the breaker at the panel before working on the fixture.

Can I use it in a bathroom or covered porch?

No. Linen is a natural fiber and will absorb humidity over time, leading to discoloration, sagging pleats, and possible mildew. The fixture is rated for indoor dry locations only — bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, entryways, and similar dry interior spaces.

How bright is it? Can it light a whole room?

Output is ambient, not task. The pleated linen shade is designed to diffuse and soften light, not to maximize lumens — Seretta is intended as the main mood-setting overhead fixture for bedrooms, hallways, and lounging areas, layered with table or floor lamps in larger rooms. It is not bright enough on its own for kitchen prep, detailed reading, or workspaces.

Does it work with a dimmer?

Yes, with the right bulb. Install an E27 LED labeled “dimmable” — most are — and pair with an LED-compatible wall dimmer. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will flicker or fail on a dimmer.

How do I clean the pleated shade?

Dust along the pleats with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest suction setting using an upholstery attachment. For a stain or mark, blot — don’t rub — with a clean, slightly damp cloth and let the fabric air-dry fully before turning the light back on. Avoid soaking the linen.
